It can be a dog eat dog world when it comes to our jobs. Longer hours and higher demands are enough to make most of us burn out and wearily count down the days to our next vacation. Then along comes someone who's so jaw-droppingly efficient that we wonder if they're even human!

Here are 11 videos of employees who'd even put Speedy Gonzales to shame!

1. The incredibly dexterous noodle-maker

Making Lamian noodles is a lot harder than you think! These noodles are hand-pulled - the dough has to be pulled and folded several times. It's a long, precise process that requires a high level of skill. Professionals make it look easy, but trust us when we say they've been doing this for years. If you can, try to see them in action - watching them prepare these noodles is a show in itself!

2. A mind-blowing designer

Adam Saaks is also known as 'The Master Shredder' and 'Adam Scissor Hands'. He's famous for his live T-shirt cutting performances. Armed with only a pair of scissors, he cuts and ladders fabrics with surgical precision in order to breathe life back into garments that would otherwise have ended up in the trash can.

3. The quickest waiter in the world

Waiter jobs aren't just taken by students or people who need to earn a living whilst looking for something better. A good waiter or waitress needs to have great customer service skills, be organized, agile and quick off the mark. This guy is remarkable and we only hope his boss pays him well! Prize-winning waiter competitions have existed since the start of the 20th Century... someone please tell this man to sign up ASAP!

4. A real-life Edward Scissorhands

Hairdressing requires a lot of skill, but also needs to be done quickly if clients aren't to be stuck in a salon all day. The first video shows a stylist using a pair of scissors designed and patented by Valentino LoSauro, a famous hairdresser with 35 years' experience to his name. The second video shows the razor technique - something that requires an extremely high level of precision and dexterity!

5. The competitive eater

Eating competitions are big business in the US and UK! If you've never seen one, the idea is to stuff your face as quickly as possible and foods range from hamburgers to hot dogs, chips, donuts etc. Top of this food chain is record-breaking Matt 'Megatoad' Stonie, a professional speed eater and social network star. His records include eating 255 marshmallows, 182 slices of bacon, 4 hamburgers, 4 milk shakes and 4 large servings of fries in only 5 minutes! That said, he only weighs 60kg... Go figure!!

6. The Queen of Stamps

Although stamping and franking machines have more or less taken over, we all have images of an employee sitting at their desk calmly stamping letters in between sips of coffee... Check out this woman if you want to see a human stamping machine in action!

7. Professional kitchen staff

Every professional kitchen has a professional 'cutter' - someone who slices vegetables at break-neck speed and can perfectly filet meat or fish in a flash. If restaurants are to run smoothly, all chefs need efficient assistants to get dishes out quickly and at the same time. Here's one in action and there's not a sliced finger or drop of blood in sight!

8. Bank tellers

Not as easy as it looks! Once again, this is often done by machine, but when you find yourself faced with a quick-fingered bank teller, it's quite a performance... Not a job for someone who has stiff fingers!

9. Professional samurai

Competition can be stiff between Samurais and Isao Machii is the quickest of them all. Holder of several Guinness World Records, he performed 1,000 cuts in 33 minutes as well as a 820km/h tennis ball cut! His awesome skills led a Japanese company to produce a Samurai food processor in his honor.

10. People who can run across water

Yes, it's possible! Buddhist monks are known for their ability to perform incredible physical feats and running across water is one of them. Shi Liliang is a Shaolin monk who's beaten several world records for running across water! He started with an impressive 118m and then beat his own record by running 125 meters! These monks don't literally run on the water, but across very thin, floating planks. It's an awesome sight. Liliang's technique is to use very quick, short steps that require a high level of control.

11. These tomato sauce factory workers

This Philippines factory produces 300 tons of tomato sauce day! The tomatoes come from a plantation that produces 10 to 12 tons a time and processing them requires quick, efficient and well-coordinated teams of workers!
