Some actors 'do it all'... stunts, sporting feats, love scenes and so on. But for other's putting their life at risk or baring their flesh is too much to ask, so studios always have stunt and body doubles to hand. Jacky Chan, for example, did his own stunts, whilst Chris Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson prefer the body double option!
Here are 12 actors who had a body double for some scenes - time to meet the unsung heroes of Tinseltown who put their lives on the line whilst shooting a movie.
1. Chris Hemsworth and Bobby Holland Hanton
In order to match Chris Hemsworth's muscular physique, Bobby Holland Hanton, the actor's stunt double in Thor, had to work out for 18 hours per week...
2. Chris Pratt and Tony McFarr
These guys are hard to tell apart! Tony McFarr body doubled Chris in all his recent films - Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World and Passengers.
3. Johnny Depp and Theo Kypri
Theo Kypri stood in for Johnny Depp in The Tourist for the scene where the actor needed to jump from a hotel window whilst wearing his pajamas.
4. Natalie Portman and Sarah Lane
Natalie Portman had to lose over 20 pounds and learn ballet for her role in Black Swan. Even though the actress did dance in most scenes, she's not a prima ballerina, so professional ballet dancer Sarah Lane stepped into her tutu for the more complex sequences.
5. Tom Cruise and Michael McIntyre
Michael Mcintyre doubled Tom Cruise in Night and Day (2010). He performed all the stunts that Cruise found too dangerous. For anyone who hasn't heard of Mcintyre, he's not just a stunt double, but also a well-known actor in his native UK!
6. Dwayne « The Rock » Johnson and Tanoai Reed
It's hard to believe that 'The Rock' needs a stunt double, but for 2013's Pain & Gain, his cousin Tanoai Reed was used for several scenes.
7. Penelope and Monica Cruz
Whilst Dwayne Johnson called on his cousin, Penelope Cruz asked her sister for help. Penelope was pregnant during filming of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Fountain of Youth and, therefore, unable to shoot certain scenes - luckily her sister was available!

Tom Hardy needed Jacob Tomuri to double him in the movie Legend.
9. Margot Robbie and Ingrid Kleinig
Crazy stunts aren't just a guy thing! Ingrid Keinig is a well-known female double who performed stunts in two of Margot Robbie's movies - Suicide Squad and Tarzan!
10. Angelina Jolie and Eunice Huthart
Sometimes scenes require a double who has exactly the same body shape as the actor or actress. In this case it's Eunice Huthart and Angelina Jolie, who have more than a professional relationship. Huthart isn't just Jolie's official double, but also a close friend and godmother to Shilo, Jolie's first child with Brad Pitt.
11. Jennifer Lopez and Vanessa Vander Pluym
Jennifer Lopez had a stunt double for the TV series Shades of Blue. It was Vanessa Vander Pluym (on the right) who performed Lopez's stunts.
12. Lucy Lawless and Zoë Bell
No, Lucy Lawless didn't perform all the stunts in Xena: Warrior Princess. It was New Zealander, Zoë Bell, an actress in her own right, who performed Xena's impressive moves. Bell has a number of stunt double movies under her belt including Grindhouse, Django Unchained and Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.
