Sometimes we forget that smartphones are a recent invention and back in the day people couldn't whip out their cell phone and immortalize the unusual events in their lives. With a bit of luck, they may have had a camera in their pocket, but cameras weren't items people routinely carried around.
Thanks to modern technology, nowadays we can pretty much snap and share as much as we want, so we've put together a selection of photos taken by people who stumbled upon something completely out of the norm.
