Svalbard Global Seed Vault opened in 2008 on the island of Spitzbergen. 250 million seed samples are stored there, so any type of plant can be restored. The Pionen Bunker is a data center located in Bahnhof, in caves more than 100 feet below ground. Built in 1943 to house refugees, today these caves are the offices of the Pionen company.
